Plymouth Rock Studios believes in setting a powerful example for the industry and the region by building the world’s first green studio. We have registered our entire development project with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in order to pursue campus wide, new construction certification under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standards.
Our design principles focus on stewardship of the land and attaining carbon neutrality, including the integration of multiple renewable and sustainable resources. To bring this innovative concept to fruition, Plymouth Rock Studios has selected Gensler – a leading global architecture, design, planning and strategic consulting firm renowned for its commitment to green design.
STAGE ZERO™
We are excited to announce the involvement of some new world class partners In our quest to become the world’s first green movie studio. C Change Investments, an investment firm focused on developing new sustainable technologies that can be put into place on the campus and around the world, and ARUP, a globally recognized leader in green technology. ARUP has formed a new division called Zero Plus that will work directly on a new project for the studio called Stage Zero. Still in the planning phases, the vision for Stage Zero is to build the world’s first carbon neutral sound stage for film and television production.
LOCAL FOCUS
The studio’s principle of responsibility extends beyond the design elements of the facility to our larger philosophy of bioregionalism. We will strive for regional support for everything from the food we serve in the commissary to the materials we use to build the studio.
