EDUCATION

I’ve always tried to be aware of what I say in my films, because all of us who makes motion pictures are teachers, teachers with very loud voices.—GEORGE LUCAS

The Rock Educational Cooperative™ (TREC) is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of Plymouth Rock Studios. TREC's mission is to educate and inspire the creative workforce in support of the long-term growth of New England’s entertainment industry.

In the fall of 2008, TREC hosted Jobs On The Lot, three entertaining and informational presentations aimed at giving the general public an overview of the film and television industry and studio operations. In the next two years leading up to the studio’s opening, our workforce training initiative will be expanded to include workshops and master classes, providing potential employees with more specific training and guidance from studio employees and other industry professionals.

Another important component of TREC is our internship program. Every semester, we host a group of interns at the studio, involving them in marketing, video production, animation, web development, graphic design, human resources, finance and more. Most of the interns are natives of the area and students at local schools. We have also begun a partnership with Plymouth's high schools to set up special vocational programs and provide students with after school internships.

TREC’s programs will be an integral part of the studio campus and provide visiting filmmakers, retired industry professionals and other artists with the unique opportunity to mentor a new generation of cultural influencers, helping preserve excellence in craft and artistry in the digital age.

If you would like to be considered for internship opportunities as they become available please fill out our Internships form.
