HOLLYWOOD EAST™

The Hollywood East™ movement is a story in the making.
Massachusetts has rolled out the red carpet to the movie business. The 25% film tax credit created in 2006 and expanded in July 2007 has spurred a dramatic increase in production in the Commonwealth.
The new Martin Scorsese film Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio and the comic book adaptation The Surrogates starring Bruce Willis are two of several high-profile productions that have recently shot in Massachusetts, drawing major media attention to Hollywood East. Visit the Massachusetts Film Office for a complete list of films shot in the Commonwealth.
In May 2008, Plymouth Rock Studios and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced a licensing agreement for the likeness of the iconic Hollywood sign in California.
